Tool tracking for crews

Know where every tool is, and who has it.

Photograph a tool's plate and Crib reads the make, model and serial for you. Stick on a QR label. From then on, one scan checks it out, back in, or reports it damaged.

Three steps. That is the whole job.

  1. 1

    Photograph the plate

Up to four photos: the serial plate, the model label, the whole tool, any barcode. Crib fills in the details and marks anything it is unsure of for you to check.

  2. 2

    Stick on the label

Print QR labels on a sheet from your office printer, or one at a time on a label printer. The code is printed under the QR too, in case it gets scratched.

  3. 3

    Scan to move it

Point any phone camera at the label. Check out, check in, move to a van or site, or report damage, in a tap or two.

Nothing typed twice

Make, model and serial come off the photos. The same serial cannot be added twice by mistake.

Overdue and damaged, at a glance

See what is out, what is late back, and what needs fixing. A damaged tool cannot go out until it is marked fixed.

A history nobody can rewrite

Every move, check-in and repair is kept in order with who did it and when. Old entries cannot be edited or deleted.

Vans, sites and the tool room

Tools live in places you name. Filter the register by place, person, or status.

The right access for each person

Crew check tools in and out. Office edits, prints labels and exports. Owners manage people.

Your data, private by design

Signed in only. Photos have their location data removed before they are saved. Download the whole register for Excel any time.

Works on the phone your crew already has.

Crib runs in the phone's web browser. No app store, no special scanner, built for one hand and work gloves.
